Three young persons in Ifo Local Government of Ogun State have been arrested for gang-raping a 16-year-old girl. The suspects are
Oluwaseun Damilohun, 20; Oriyomi Damilohun,19; and Oluwasegun Idowu,18.
A police statement released on Thursday, 15 October, 2020 stated that the victim had gone to a stream to have her bath. While at the stream, the suspects showed up, dragged her to the bush, and took turns to violate her.
The suspects, also, videoed the rape as a way of gaging the victim and prevent her from reporting the incident.
“While the devilish act was going on, one of them was video recording it with a threat that if the victim dared to report them, they would upload it on the Internet,” said Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesperson for the Ogun Police Command in the statement.
Oyeyemi said “one Alimi Olasunkanmi” reported the incident, which happened at Abidoun Village of Ifo town.
The spokesperson said the case had been to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for diligent prosecution.
