The Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State, Comrade Ayodele Adewale, has felicitated with Muslims in the local government in particular and Nigeria in general on the occasion of the Eid-l-Filtri celebration.
In a statement made available to journalists in Lagos on Sunday, 27th July, 2014, Comrade Adewale expressed joy on the successful completion of the Ramadan fasting by Muslims. He explained that witnessing another Eid-l-Filtri is a special privilege from God who has control over the destiny of man.
The local government boss said the 30-day spiritual exercise has drawn the faithful closer to God, urging them to keep on practicing the lessons learnt from the holy month in their relationship with their Maker and fellow human beings.
Comrade Adewale also used the medium to condemn the activities of the Community Policing Youth Vanguard set up by the Area E Commander of the Nigeria Police, ACP Dan Okoro. He noted that the group has been terrorizing the defenseless citizens at will, while the police give them the necessary support.
He thus reiterated his call for the transfer of ACP Dan Okoro from the area.
