The Ahmadiyyah Muslim community USA welcome US President Barack Obama on his first mosque.
The visit which happened around 9 am (US time) yesterday (Wednesday) February 3rd at Islamic Society, Baltimore, Maryland.
The visit comes at a time of rising Islamophiobia and anti-muslim violence in the State.
In an oval office address last December the President implored Americans that the Muslim brotherhood are their friends and neighbours.
“Muslim Americans are our friends, neighbours, our co-workers and sports heroes, and our men and women in uniform defending our country” said Obama.
Welcoming President Obama, Dr Nasim Rehmatullah, who is the senior National vice-President of Ahmadiyya Community USA said the President has reassured all Muslims and non-Muslims of peaceful coherent among all.
“We welcome the President’s ongoing drive to build a strong relationship between muslims and non-muslims in America, as these efforts also strengthen national security” .
‘’President Obama’s visit during tense times comes as a reassurance to all American muslims,’’.
“That American Muslims are part and parcel of the American fabric. We will continue work together to make American a better and safer nation by inviting all Americans to stand united against extremism, and with the narrative of true Islam’’.
The Ahmadiyya muslim community USA were onsite as the President visit and he is been interviewed immediately after the meeting.
