Ahmadiyya Jamaat Nigeria Women Servants of Allah Group, Lajna Immaillah have concluded the Centenary Health Walk and Sanitation exercise as part of the 100 years celebration of the Jamaat in Nigeria in District 8, comprising Edo and Delta States.
They were supported by some elderly males and the youth wing, the Majlis Khudammul Ahmadiyya, the Youth Wing of the Islamic organisation controlling the traffic to avoid automobile accidents. The programme is part of the Centenary celebration of Ahmadiyya Jamaat in Nigeria.
According to Hajia Aminat Enahoro , Lajnal leader Zone 8 Eastern Region , members from Benin, Warri, Ekae, and Orerokpe Branches gathered in Benin and walked for more than two kilometres through Joromi street, Ekenwa Road, Stadium Road, Edebiri, Second Freedom and First Freedom Streets, sweeping and picking refuse off the roads.
The women group also used the opportunity to enlighten Benin residence about Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat and True Islam who admire and lauded the initiative for immense benefit to individual health and the society at large.
Similarly in Auchi, Ahmadiyya Women group walked through several streets including Oshobughie street, Warrake Road, and the palace of Otaru of Auchi where they were received happily as they carried out extensive environmental sanitation. Two tipper loads of refuse were disposed off during the exercise.
The exercise was led by the Women leaders in the District namely: Hajia Aminat Enahoro (District Sadr), Sister Hauwa Kashim-Sumaina (Naib Sadr), Sister Wakilat Mustafa (Secretary), Sister Kautha Abdullahi (Welfare Officer). In all, 75 members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat women group participated in zone.
