The Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), Honourable Wahab Alawiye-King has urged staff of the board to embrace professionalism in their quest for qualitative service delivery to residents of the state.
Alawiye-King gave the advice at the Y2020 joint prayer session held on the first working day of the year at LASUBEB Office, Maryland, Lagos.
He commended the staff for their forthrightness in the just-concluded year.
While asserting that the dedication of staff was responsible for the various achievements of the board in 2019, the Chairman said, “when we came on board as Chairman and Permanent Board Members of LASUBEB, it was gratifying that we met on ground, a focused and high performing team that has a full grasp of the mandates of the board and this greatly assisted us.”
He revealed that the structures, systems and processes that represent efficiency in public service were already in place at LASUBEB but urged the officials of the board to surpass the achievements of the previous year through the efforts of its various departments, directorates and units.
Alawiye-King promised that LASUBEB will not retreat from being a value-driven organisation that upholds integrity at all times, just as he assured that the board will continue to invest in giving its staff the best training and development exposure.
“In return, l will expect you all to continue to give your best, making every effort to be professional and transparent in all your dealings with both staff members and our external stakeholders”, he stated.
The Secretary of LASUBEB, Mrs. Foluso Ajimoti promised the board members that the staff of LASUBEB will continue to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in them.
