The Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Comrade Valentine Buraimoh has emphasized the need for good road network as a panacea for socio-economic development and effective security. He made this known when he inspected the on-going road rehabilitation at 1st Avenue road, Festac Town, Lagos, Nigeria.
Comrade Buraimoh stated that he is impressed with what he has seen so far, and from the look of things, the rehabilitation works at the aforementioned road would be completed very soon.
“With the pace of work , in no distance time the rehabilitation of the road will be completed”, he noted.
The local government boss however appealed to residents, motorists and visitors alike to be patient with the on-going rehabilitation of the 1st Avenue road, noting that the road will be rehabilitated largely with interlocking stones while ashphalts spot patching will also be done as this will be beneficial to all and sundry when it is completed.
Also, areas that will be worked on include 1st Avenue, 11 Road, 31 Road, 32 Road, 4th Avenue, Alarasopo Road in Jakande Low Cost Housing Estate.
All these roads will be rehanilitated in phases so as not to create heavy traffic congestion in the council area.
