The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised the alarm that the campaign to terrorise the state citizens with security operatives has begun.
The party therefore enjoined citizens not to be afraid of security presence especially where gunshots have been heard believed to have emanated from security convoys.
No citizens, the APC said, should be scared or should run away when they see and/or hear gunshots from security people because they have committed no crime.
“Our people should go about their businesses and ignore the presence of the security operatives,” a statement by the state APC’s Director of Publicity, Reseach and Strategy, Barrister Kunle Oyatomi said.
The APC stated further that “a country in which the security operatives are the ones doing what we are experiencing to citizens in Osun, calls for gravest concern.
“Instead of pursuing and fighting Boko haram, what we are seeing are our own security officers who should be protecting us, but have now chosen to frighten us”.
The party then asked , “so if the terrorists come, who will protect the citizenry. Osun will not bow to terror from either Boko Haram or security forces.
“We are only sad that evidence of the banana republic is slowly but evidently crippling in.
“But if this is how the PDP intends to win election in Osun, God helps Nigeria”.
