It was all pomp and pageantry in Amuwo Odofin local Government Area, as the Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola commissioned the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Legislative Building, which is the first of its kind at the local government level in Africa, some parts of Europe, America and Asia.
Ogbeni Aregbesola noted that the Freedom House is a world class architectural design.
He commended the former Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Comrade Ayodele Adewale for this feat. In his words, “Comrade Adewale is an icon that should be emulated. I want to thank the people of Amuwo Odofin Local Government for choosing the right person to run the affairs of the local government.”
The Governor of the State of Osun also applauded the present administration in the local government for naming the monumental edifice after the Governor emeritus of Lagos State and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who he described as “leader of leaders and a strong advocate of true federalism.”
Also speaking, NADECO chieftains including the former military Governor of Lagos State, Admiral Ndubusi Kanu, Barrister Fred Agbeyegbe and Mr. Ayo Opadokun, commended Comrade Adewale for the infrastructure development put in place in the local government, noting that the “civil societies is proud of his achievements.”
Comrade Adewale in his address, stated that “in a remarkable period of six years of energetic and purposeful governance, driven by a clear vision and a people centered manifesto of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), now All Progressives Congress (APC), we have embarked on aggressive human capital development, massive infrastructure renewal and regeneration of the environment. In the process, hundreds of projects have been executed which today, have far-reaching positive impact on the lives of the people in this community.”
Amongst dignitaries at the event included Hon. Lola Akande, Deputy Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly who represented Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Rev. Tunji Adebiyi, who represented the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN; Hon. Demola Seriki, and HRM Oba Moadenle Oyekan, Onilado of Ilado.
