The Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on Wednesday, 4th March, 2015 was described as the only governor in the country who has brought inclusive governance to the table and has through that engendered good governance.
This was the submission of the Secretary to the State Government and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti and Gboyega Oyetola who spoke shortly after being sworn in at the Governors’ Office on Wednesday, 4th March, 2015.
Aregbesola while performing the swearing in ceremony at the Executive Council Chamber in his office admonished the two officials to uphold the sanctity of their oaths and perform their duties as principal officers of his government.
Both Adeoti and Oyetola served in the same capacities in the first term of the Governor which ended on 27th November, 2014.
The ceremony was witnessed by the state Deputy Governor, Mrs. Grace Titi Laoye Tomori; the state Head of Service, Mr. Sunday Owoeye; former chairman of the party, Elder Lowo Adebiyi; and other government officials.
Adeoti, who spoke on behalf of the two said light would always triumph.
“This is the only governor who has brought inclusive governance on the table. He brought enemies of yesterday to the racket of relevant friendship and state of Osun is peaceful for that,” he said.
He thanked the Governor for finding the two of them worthy of service again adding that Aregbesola fits into the class of leaders who have impacted positively on the people.
“We reaffirm before Allah and man that the vision of our leader, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola will be our vision, his moves are my movements and his policy is my direction and his burden in governance is our burden,” he assured
Adeoti stated further that, “Selfish interest has died a natural death with your emergence in 2010. Stagnation and underdevelopment were later buried in shallow graves of Vanity when you took mantle of leadership and as your SSG, I shall continue to patter our my politics along that line.”
He congratulated Aregbesola on the ruling of the Osun Election Petition Tribunal which ruled in favour of the Governor saying this has “indeed confirmed that Osun people actually gave you their mandate to govern for another four years.
Aregbesola while speaking at the ceremony said , “the oath you have just sworn to is very powerful, I urge you to seriously abide it, I also call on you their family members and members of the public to assist them to live by the oath.
“I urge you not to use your office to discriminate on any member of the public no matter the religion, tribe or sex as your office is meant to serve the interest of every member of the public”
