Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday, 1 December, 2020 have confirmed the five nominees into the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission forwarded to them by the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, reports The Gazelle News.com.
Nominees confirmed are: Hon. Kamala Bayewu, Chairman; Engr. Biodun Orekoya, Mr. Ahmed Seriki, Hon Taofeek Adaranijo and Hon. Akeem Bamgbola as the members of the Commission.
The lawmakers expressed confidence and support to the nominees stating that they have performed brilliantly and excellently well at various offices in the State before their new assignment.
The Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa, urged the nominees on the need to extend hands of fellowship to every institution of government because, “we all work with one singular reason which is to make Lagos State a better place”.
The Speaker also commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for choosing the right people by nominating all those who have had local government experiences either as Chairman, Executive Secretary or Sole Administrator, showing that whatsoever challenges confronting the Local Government Service Commission, the nominees will find lasting solutions to them.
He implored the nominees to put in their efforts and ensure that the State has administration of Local Government and Local Government Service Commission that will be the best in the country.
The Speaker thereafter directed the Acting Clerk of the House, Mr. Olalekan Onafeko to forward the list of the confirmed nominees to the Governor.
