A Boeing 737 passenger plane with at least 60 people on board has crashed into the sea after vanishing shortly after take off from Indonesian capital Jakarta.
The Sriwijaya Air passenger plane lost contact earlier today, Saturday, 9 January, 2021 while traveling to Pontianak in West Kalimantan province, according to the nation’s transport ministry and multiple reports.
Workers of Indonesia rescue agency could be seen pulling debris from the water in spirited search for survivors. The agency has confirmed the debris were that of the Sriwijaya Boeing 737 plane.
It was gathered that the plane fell 10,000ft in less than one minute, about four minutes after taking off.
