The former Chairman of Ojo Local Chairman, Dr Solomon Ajibola Akin-Aina is dead.
The ex-council boss died early morning of Thursday, 22 November, 2018 after a protracted illness. Dr Akin-Aina has been in and out of hospital for almost a year before he finally breathed his last on Thursday.
Dr Akin-Aina was elected Chairman of old Ojo Local Government in 1999 on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD). He was part of the pioneer group of elected council chairman in the country when Nigeria returned to democratic rule in 1999.
When new local governments were created in 2003, Akin-Aina returned as Executive Secretary of Ojo LG and later re-elected as Chairman of the council completing his two terms in 2008.
After leaving office, he had gone into lecturing during which he later bagged a doctorate degree in Education.
He did not abandoned his political career as at one time or the other he made attempts to go into the House of Representatives but always failed at the primary election level.
He was survived by wives and children. He was in his late 50s when he died.
