It was wailing and weeping for some traders at the popular Atakunmosa market in Ilesa, Osun state on Sunday, 9th August, 2015 after the market was razed down by inferno.
The market situated around the palace of Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran caught fire around 7pm thus necessitating tension in the area.
The traders whose shops and goods were destroyed by the fire were wailing as most of them who are women were seen rolling on the floor as they counted their losses.
A food vendor in the market in Atakunmosa West Local Government Area of the state, Mrs. Comfort Olusayo said the reason for the fire outbreak was unknown.
She however said it might have been caused by electricity surge.
According to her, “the fire had almost razed down the entire clothing section of the market while corroborating earlier speaker’s suspicion that the fire might had been caused by electricity surge.”
She lamented that the fire service station in Ilesa were unable to control the situation.
As at the time of filing this report, the eyewitness said the situation was uncontrollable.
