Breaking Now! Mobile Policemen Arrest Journalists, ‘Deport’ Them, Say They Have No Business In Ekiti

The reign of impunity by security operatives posted to ensure security and maintain peace during the Ekiti State governorship election took a new negative turn on the afternoon of Saturday, 21st June, 2014 when three journalists covering the election were arrested by mobile policemen at Ifaki-Ekiti.

Thgeazellenews.com learnt that the three journalists: Jadesola Ajibola, Inspiration FM; Akin Ogunsola, Osun State Broadcasting Service (OSBC); and Aremu Awolola, OSBC; were reportedly arrested by over 50 mobile policemen led by Mopol Commander Patrick.

By the time our readers will be reading this report, they would have been ‘deported’ to Osun State as the mobile policemen were escorting the arrested journalists to the Ekiti-Osun border.

According to Mopol Commander Patrick, the journalists had no business being in Ekiti State to cover the election. This was in spite of the fact that the journalists identified themselves as journalists duely accredited by INEC to cover the election.
