Despite the glaring and overwhelming lead of Governor Rauf Aregbesola in the just concluded governorship election in Osun State, it appears President Goodluck Jonathan is hell bent on foisting Iyiola Omisore on the people of the state.
Thegazellenews.com learnt that the results of the election which put Aregbesola in clear lead jolted the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The results which were duly signed by agents of the political parties which participated in the election in their various polling units, wards and local governments, started appearing on the social media as soon as they were pronounced officially by the returning officers at the various polling units.
So it was no surprise that even supporters of Omisore on Facebook and other social media have remained silent since the results started rolling in.
Also, major national newspaper websites have been uploading the results on their websites.
It is the same result that Jonathan and the PDP leadership allegedly want to overturn.
It was gathered that PDP leadership in connivance with Chris Uba planned to unleash masked security men on the INEC collation centre, Osogbo while the security agents have been put on alert to deal with any protest from the citizens.
This has hightened tension in Osogbo as residents continue to keep vigil at the collation centre as residents have vowed to defend their votes with everything legally at their disposal.
