Public Servants have been advised to embrace diligence and hard work in their duties in order to bring about the needed change in quality service delivery to the citizenry.
The Presiding Chaplain of the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, Ven. Femi Taiwo gave the advice, Sunday, June 19, 2016, at an Interdominational Thanksgiving Service to commemorate the Y2016 Public Service Week Celebration in the state.
Speaking on the theme of the Thanksgiving Service “Faithful Servants & Reward of Hard work”, Ven. Taiwo noted that public servants need to work assiduously in their assigned responsibilities, distinguish themselves and exhibit exemplary service.
According to him, “hard work is the antidote to poverty’ adding that God created people to work, give service to humanity and care for others hence public servants must always work hard.
He explained that peace of mind, divine grace, long life and promotion are the rewards for hard work and diligence.
The thanksgiving service was atended by top government functionaries and public servants which included the Wife of the State Governor, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode who was represented by the state Commissioner for the Environment, Dr. Babatunde Adejare; the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Olufunmilayo Atilade who was represented by the Chief Registrar, High Court of Lagos, Mr. Emmanuel Ogundare; the state Head of Service, Mrs. Olabowale Ademola, a former Head of Service in the state, Mr Adesegun Ogunlewe; and permanent secretaries amongst others.
