Climate Change Summit: Fashola, Adewale Harp On Need To Protect Environment

The Executive Chairman, Amuwo Odofin Local government, Comrade Ayodele Adewale delivering his presentation “ Exploring Entrepreneurship Solutions On Climate Change Mitigation & Adaptation: NGO & Civil Society Perspectives (Amuwo-Odofin Perspective), at the 6th Lagos State Climate Change summit,2014, held at Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos.

In its bid to continually demonstrate its commitment to developing a climate change conscious state, the Lagos State Government has successfully hosted the sixth edition of its annual Climate Change Summit.

The event which was held at Eko Hotel & Suite, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, attracted a mammoth crowd.

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), while delivering his key note address, called on global leaders to work together to minimize the impact of climate change through an effective combination of adaptations and climate-smart business innovations in areas such as renewable energy technologies, energy response and food control, amongst others.

In a related development, the Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Comrade Ayodele Adewale, who was one of the panelists at the event, noted in his presentation that “Climate Change does not only pose a threat but also has opportunities that could be tapped into.”

The local government boss further stressed that it’s everyone’s responsibility to protect the environment.
