Hon Bola Olumegbon-Lawal flanked with ACC Arinze and other FRSC officers
The Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area, Hon Jide Jimoh, has urged commercial bus drivers to obey stipulated traffic laws and regulations in the state for safety of not only of their lives but also that of the passengers.
He disclosed this over the weekend when Unit Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), RS2, Lagos Mainland Unit Command, ACC Arinze Igwe, paid a courtesy visit to the council.
The chairman who was represented by the council Vice Chairman, Hon Bola Olumegbon-Lawal, said it behoves on every citizens to abide with traffic laws.
According to him, “motorists prefer indiscriminate parking instead rather than parking on designated locations. Parents also encourage underage driving and even crossing highway instead of using pedestrian bridges.
“As a road user, I urged all to obey traffic law and order. FRSC was established purposely to ensure sanity on our roads by enlightening and educating the people, they should not be seen as our enemies,” he said
On his part, Arinze said the essence of his visit was to speak on laws guiding road users especially commercial bus drivers and to ensure children safety on the road.
