The Lagos State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Donatus Ikemefuna (L), exchanging pleasantries with the Supervisor for Works, Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Comrade (Engr.) Valentine Buraimoh (M), during the latter’s visit to the Local Government Secretariat, 41 road, Festac Town, Lagos. With them is the Executive Chairman, Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Comrade Ayodele Adewale (R).
Amuwo Odofin Local Government has played host to the new Lagos State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The visit by the civil security topnotch was in furtherance of the Comrade Ayodele Adewale administration commitment to improving security in the local government through constructive engagement with various security agencies.
Security around pipeline passing through the area topped the discussion at a brief meeting between the Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Comrade Ayodele Adewale and the Commandant, Donatus Ikemefuna.
The Lagos State Commandant hinted that a task force would be established in the local government in checking the menace of crime, pipeline vandalism and mixing of petroleum products in the community. He also gave hope of a renewed effort towards addressing the issue of the Community Policing Youth Vanguard, set up by the Area ‘E’ Commander, ACP Dan Okoro.
The meeting was preceded by a tour of facilities and projects in the local government secretariat, after which the NSCDC boss scored Comrade Adewale excellently.
In his words, “with the kind of logistics and moral support we get from him, and the gigantic projects put in place in the local government secretariat, our wish for him is to reciprocate such gesture in other positions he find himself”.
On his part, Comrade Adewale appreciated the Commandant for his visit, noting that the local governmnet is always ready to support security agencies within his domain. He further stressed that the visit has shown that there is a working and cordial relationship amongst the security agencies in the local government.
Comrade Adewale also noted that the local government efforts at stamping out criminality, hooliganism and gangsterism in the community, is a task that cannot be compromised.
