Confusion gripped House of Representatives Committee as Kemebradikumo Pondei, acting managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), slumped while testifying before it on Monday. The committee is probing an allegation that the Pondei-led management spent N81.5 billion within five months.
Pondei regained consciousness afterwards and, subsequently, led out of the panel’s sitting.
The incident forced the committee members to adjourn sitting for 30 minutes.
Pondei walked out on the lawmakers when he first appeared before them last Thursday. He had complained about the presence of former Chairman of the committee, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who is accused of corruption in the sensational NDDC saga.
