Zimbabwe’s Minister of Transport, Joel Matiza has died of COVID-19, the government announced late on Friday, 22 January, 2021.
The report of Maritza’s death comes just two days after the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sibusiso Moyo died of the virus.
The Deputy Health Minister, John Mangwiro on Saturday, 23 January, 2021 hinted on the government’s plan to further tighten the lockdown measures in the country.
“We have seen people not adhering to the lockdown regulations announced early this month,” he explained.
Zimbabwe has so far confirmed 30,523 COVID-19 cases including 962 deaths.
