Barely three weeks into his administration, the Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State, Otunba Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede has promised that his administration will equip the staffs of the local government to perform excellently in order to enhance service delivery.
The council boss made the disclosure on Friday, 20 August, 2021 in his office while speaking with journalists after an inspection of facilities in the council. He stressed that from his interaction with the top management staff of the local government, he has implicit confidence in their ability to deliver, provided they are given the necessary encouragement and tools to work.
In his words, “though our administration is three weeks old, from my close interaction with the staff, they are willing and ready to deliver services, but we as government must be ready to provide them the necessary tools and conducive environment. While I was on the assessment of our primary health centers (PHCs), I observed they are in deplorable conditions without adequate equipment, we shall rebuild and renovate all of them and make provision for equipping them, so that we can all patronize them when we are sick.
“We have competent engineers, who are skillful with required expertise and all the constructions can be handled by them. We will upgrade our facilities in the local government using our engineers. We will get them the required equipment needed to deliver, which unfortunately costs little or nothing, but mere determination on the part of government is what’s needed. We are determined to empower our staff to enable them deliver on their assignments. We will hit the ground running next month.”
He however advised the council staff to ensure to reciprocate the good gesture by delivering on assignments on time so as to justify the investment of government on them.
