Nigeria recorded its highest number of deaths for a single day from Covid-19 complications on Friday, 29 January, 2021, reports The Gazelle News.com.
According to information gathered from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on its daily report of the pandemic in Nigeria, 27 people lost their lives to Coronavirus across the country on Friday, 29 January, 2021.
This represented the highest number of deaths in a single day. The previous record of 23 deaths was recorded in this month also, on Thursday, 14 January, 2021 when 23 people succumbed to death as a result of the virus infection.
The month of January is becoming the deadliest with deaths from the pandemic rising to 288 in the month alone as at Friday, 29 January, 2021.
On Friday, another 1114 Covid-19 cases were confirmed across the country bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 128,674. Out of this number, 102,780 have been discharged while 1577 deaths have been recorded.
