Pubic and private sectors workers living in Ogun State would not able to go to work or return home from work when the lockdown is eased in Lagos on Monday, 4 May, 2020, The Gazelle News.com can report.
Based on the presidential address by President Muhammadu Buhari, easing the lockdown imposed on Lagos, Ogun states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the lockdown in Ogun State is not expected to be eased until Monday, 11 May, 2020. This is because the lockdown imposed by the president started a week late in Ogun State.
The Gazelle News.com reports that the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, said that residents of the state working in Lagos would not be allowed to go out or come into the state until the lockdown is eased in the state on Monday, 11 May, 2020.
This medium can report that a huge population of people are working in Lagos but live in Ogun State.
This was contained in the latest guidelines by the state government over the Federal Government-ordered partial lockdown in the state.
Addressing resents of the state via his Facebook page on Saturday, 2 May, 2020, the Governor explained that the lockdown in the state is still on and would not be eased until Monday, 11 May, 2020 due to the initial grace granted the state by the Federal Government when the lockdown was announced.
He, however, stressed that the use of face masks would become mandatory for everyone in public places effective May 4.
He also referred to the order of the President Muhammadu Buhari restricting inter-state movement as part of measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Partial lockdown would begin in Lagos on Monday, May 4, and business activities are expected to resume in the nation’s commercial capital.
To be affected by this order are Lagos workers based in communities like: Ayetoro, Lafenwa, Itele, Aparadija, Sango Otta, Otta, Ijoko, Lisa, Attan, Agbara, Igbesa, and Lusada all in Ado-odo/Ota Local Government Area of the State.
Others include those living in Ojodu, Alagbole, Akute, Lambe, Ifo and Iyana Ilogbo all in Ifo Local Government Area of the State.
The rest are those living in Redeemed Camp and all the communities along the Lagos-Ibadan Express Road entoure Lagos in the Obafemi-Owode and Sagamu Local Government Areas.
