The entire members of the Nigeria Cabinet have donated a combined half of their March salary to the Federal Government to support fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
The Gazelle News.com reports that the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed disclosed this on Saturday, 28 March, 2020 through a statement by Segun Adeyemi, his Special Assistant.
The donation is being coordinated by the Minster of State for Transportation, Senator Gbemisola Saraki.
“This gesture was to show solidarity and support for the Federal Government’s efforts at tackling the disease.
“This global virus outbreak will require nations, continents and smaller communities to pull together to contribute their resources and support one another. This will facilitate an early solution of the problem,” Senator Saraki said.
The Ministers commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his leadership role in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.
