Desmond Elliot Applauds Ambode Over Tourism Infrastructure At Akodo

Desmond Elliot representing Surulere constituency I at the Lagos state House of Assembly has applauded the State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode over construction work going on at the Eko tourist Resort, Akodo, in Ibeju Lekki area of the state.

The Lawmaker gave the commendation over the weekend when the committee on Tourism, Arts and Culture went on oversight of on-going projects under the supervision of the Ministry.

Elliot who is the chairman of the committee expressed satisfaction at the pace of work and commended the contractor and management of the Resort.

Actor-turned Lawmaker maintained that one of the core objectives of the Ambode administration was Tourism infrastructures as a drive to attract investors, create employment in the creative industry and boost revenue drive of the state.

He added that the state House of Assembly would continue to support the executive arm in making sure that the dividends of democracy are achieved through developmental project.

“To be honest with you, I am highly impressed with the level of works going on at the  Resort , the ” he said, responding, the manager of the Resort Mrs. Kikelomo Oyemade said the first phase of the project would be completed in October 2107 while the second phase has would be completed in 24 months.

The first phase when completed would include 140 rooms, gymnasium, swimming pool, cinema among others  whilst  the second phase which would be hotel style has 150 rooms with Olympic-size swimming pool, conference room, gym centre etc.

The committee had earlier visited Badagry Slavery Trade Centre, Slave Point of no return Gberefu Badagry, Shoreline protection project, Badagry, Ejirin Slave Trade Market in Epe among others.
