The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the House of Representatives for Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency, Hon. Jide Jimoh has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of attributing everything that happens in the country, including the current fuel scarcity, to the APC.
According to him, “just imagine, they attributed the sudden fuel scarcity in many parts of the country to sabotage by the APC. So any failure on their part now is caused by the APC.
“How could APC frustrate supply of petrol to fuel stations in the country? What do we stand to gain in that? The end has come for the PDP because they do not have the interest of the masses at heart,” Jimoh said.
The former chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area spoke during a visit to the council secretariat to seek the support of the staffs of the council in the coming elections.
According to Jimoh, the Presidency and the PDP are not ready to give Nigerians the peace and the development they deserve, adding that the situation of the country needs prayers and drastic action, which he said can only come through votes.
“Nobody is a commander, only God is the Commander- in-Chief. Both the PDP and the Presidency have lost focus,” he said.
He said further; “Nigerians are determined to ensure that the candidates of the APC win all the elections from the federal to grassroots levels.
“In Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency, I won the ticket to contest and represent my people. Both CDAs, market men and women, NULGE and other stakeholders have accepted us with their hearts. Therefore, I am seeking your support for me and for all the candidates of the APC in the coming elections and I am very sure we will have 95 percent of the votes in Yaba and in Lagos Mainland generally.
Jimoh urged the staff of the council to collect their permanent voters’ cards (PVCs) and be ready for the elections to flush out the PDP, which he called ‘People Destructive Party’, from the country.
“Collect your PVCs and be ready to vote out PDP because you have the power to end bad government in the country. Also pray earnestly for this election because it would involve everyone both the electorates and the candidates,” he said
Earlier in her address, the Executive Secretary of Yaba LCDA, Hon. Bola Lawal-Olumegbon attributed all the developments recorded in the council to the era of Hon. Jide Jimoh as chairman.
“During your time here as the council chairman, we witnessed tremendous development in all sectors. Therefore I am very sure that the staffs of this council would give you the necessary support and vote for you in the forthcoming elections,” she said.
