Head coach of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos, Tony Bolus says the draw against Dakkada will serve as morale booster for his modest side, reports The Gazelle News.com.
Resolute MFM FC forced Dakkada FC to a 1-1 draw in one of the Matchday 4 matches of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) played across various centres in Wednesday, 13 January, 2021.
The hosts took the lead in the 47th minute of the game as Solomon Chigozie’s volley beat MFM FC goalkeeper, Adeniyi Bamidele.
The introduction of Akanni Elijah, Ebenezer Odeniyi, Clement Ogwu and Temim Adebayo in the second 45 minutes of the encounter however changed the face of the match.
The Lagos-based side scored their first away goal of the season in the 77th minute of the encounter after Temim Adebayo connected a sweet pass from Akanni Elijah.
Reflecting on the game, the coach of the team, Bolus said it was a very technical game and getting a draw in Uyo was like getting three points.
“It’s not easy getting a point here, playing against a very good side like this,” Bolus said.
“It’s a morale booster to the team. We have been studying Dakkada for quite sometime and that’s why you see at the end of the first half, we decided to introduce three players and at the end of the day the changes paid off.”
With the away point in the bag, the Olukoya Boys have now amassed seven points from possible 12 in four NPFL games. They will host Rangers International at Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium this weekend.
