EDO: Obahiagbon Loses Senatorial Bid

Chief of Staff to Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Patrick Obahiagbon, has failed in his bid to represent Edo South senatorial district in the green chambers.

He was defeated by Minority Leader, Hon Samson Osagie, who represents Uhunmwode/Orhionmwon federal constituency.
In the primaries that was keenly contested, Obahiagbon polled 894 votes while Osagie garnered 1120 votes.
Obahiagbon had in 2011 lost the House of Representatives seat to Hon Razaq Bello-Osagie.
There was heavy security presence at the Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia stadium where the primaries held.
Delegates were thoroughly searched before gaining entry into the stadium.
A total of 2212 delegates were accredited and eight votes were voided.
Former director, Marketing, of Thisday Newspaper, Erhabor Emokpae scored 28 votes while Jim Adun score 162 votes.
