Ekiti Commits N10m To Providing Admission Opportunity To Students

A sum of N10 million has been committed to the procurement of JAMB / UTME Forms Scratch Cards and e-trainings for government-
sponsored Joint Admission and Matriculation Board’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination Candidates in Ekiti state.

The state Deputy Governor, Dr Kolapo Olusola disclosed this while declaring open a one-day e-training programme for the 1,400 state–sponsored candidates for this year’s matriculation examinations to tertiary institutions at Ado Community High School, Ado Ekiti.

Dr Olusola said that the Governor Ayodele Fayose government was magnanimous to have embarked on several intervention programmes that were intended to restore the lost glory of the education sector despite the precarious financial position of the state.

The Deputy Governor explained that the e-training programme for the government-sponsored candidates was slated to hold in 9 centres across the state to expose them to the rudiments of computer based examination.

In her welcome address, the Executive Secretary of the Agency for Adult and Non-Formal Education (AANFE), Dr. Eunice Oladimeji disclosed that the present administration has invested a huge amount of money into educational development and urged beneficiaries to work hard and reciprocate the government’s gesture.

She thanked the state Governor, Dr Ayo Fayose for the gesture and assured that the training would impact positively on the performance of the candidates at the UTME.

Some of the candidates who spoke with journalists appreciated the Governor, Dr Ayo Fayose for coming to their rescue, with a promise not to let the government down in the Matriculation Examinations coming up
