The Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Prof Modupe Adelabu has organized a farewell reception for the Commander of her convoy Mr. Golu Sunday, an Inspector of Police and Mrs. Sola Akindele-Alo, her secretary.
Golu is retiring from the Nigeria Police Force after serving his fatherland for 35 years while Mrs. has proceeded on a Leave of Absence to advance her education.
At a modest reception held in her Government House residence, the Deputy Governor described the duo of Sunday and Mrs. Akindele-Alo as dutiful and recommended them to others for emulation.
She said the reception was her own little way of appreciating the Commander, who joined the convoy about seven months ago and Mrs.
Akindele-Alo, who had been her secretary in the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
According to her, the Secretary, who served her predecessor on the board, was not given to frivolities but demonstrated no trait of sycophancy.
The Deputy Governor also thanked God that Golu was retiring peacefully from service in good health and of sound mind.
In his response, the commander said he was humbled by the reception while the secretary noted that the relationship between her and the principal could best be described as a mother–child relationship.
The presentation of gifts to the duo by the Deputy Governor was the height of the reception that had the trappings of a religious service.
