A pan Lagos youth group, Lagos Youth Movement (LYM), has thrown its weight behind Governor Olusola Sanwo-Olu on the step he is taking so far on the issue of the last year #EndSARS protest of last year that went awry, expressing the need to shun sentiment and support him in his efforts to heal the wound of the past.
The Forum President, Prince Obadele Adekojo, in a telephone conversation with our reporter said what the Governor needs is maximum support that would see him through just like what happened during the Coronavirus pandemic, reminding that, it was the people’s support, assistance and cooperation that ginger him to excel to the extent of earning local, national and international accolade.
According to him, nothing less is currently expected from the people to appreciate Sanwo-Olu’s tireless efforts at taking the state to the Promise Land, insisting that, his speech on the #EndSARS read on Tuesday, 30 of November 2021 was perfect, normal and to the people’s expectations.
Against this backdrop, Adekojo said his Forum members will participate in the proposed Walk for Peace by the governor to facilitate peace, harmony and peaceful co-existence among the people of the state, promising that, the governor’s invitation to the exercise would be shared across other youth organizations with a view to mobilising them to partake actively in the exercise because of its importance.
He therefore warned against any act of sabotage, detraction, blackmail, intimidation or subtle threat from any quarters vowing to resist any such destructive tendencies that could draw the hand of the clock of the state back with all the legally permitted weapons of defence available within his Forum’s disposal.
The Royal Prince from Lagos said he was not surprised that some elements within the community are hell bent on detracting the governor from the good work he has been doing since 2019, reminding that whenever a crucial election is around the corner, some unscrupulous paymasters would roll out their ill-gotten money to detract someone at the helm of the affairs if the state particularly when they feel threatened by is outstanding performance.
“We know them and their antics. We know their hideout. At the fullness of time, we will expose them by smoking them out of their dark corners for the public to see,” Adekojo declared, warning anybody with dirty mind towards the good things happening in Lagos now from the hand of Sanwo-Olu, the God sent Messiah to have a change of heart or face the wrath of the people of the state.
