President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to Nigerian youths to leave the streets as the government will hearken to their demands, reports The Gazelle News.com.
In a nationwide broadcast on Thursday, 22 October, 2020, President Buhari acknowledged the rights of the people to protest, noting that this is enshrined in the Nigerian constitution.
The President however stated that while rights to protest are acknowledged, the rights of people to go about their businesses should also be acknowledged.
He decried the situation where the #EndSARS protests were turned into not only disturbing the rights of others but also orgy of violence will not be tolerated.
He assured that His administration will continue to ensure the protection of the lives and properties of the people while also ensuring that good governance is promoted.
