A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Epe State Constituency 2, Honourable Sylvester Ogunkelu has enjoined the elites to be part of Stakeholders’ Meetings, as a way to support the government and themselves.
Ogunkelu made this call at the meeting he hosted as initiated by the Assembly.
Ogunkelu stressed that their attendance and contribution at the Meeting was more constructive that staying back, criticising the government.
According to the Epe Constituency Two Lawmaker, the meeting was an opportunity to express views on areas where they want the government to focus on.
Commending his constituents for their attendance and contributions, the lawmaker promised that all requests would be addressed at the Assembly.
He noted that the essence of the event was to allow lawmakers report to their constituents their activities in the Assembly and for the constituents to express their suggestions and opinions on how development and growth can be achieved in their area.
“This event afford us good opportunity to tell the government what we want. Don’t forget that reports of this Meeting which is taking place in all the 40 State Constituencies in the state simultaneously will be aggregated and present to the Executive for action, so we should not underate the essence of this important event,” Honourable Ogunkelu said.
He commended the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa for organising the Stakeholders’ Meeting as a way of getting the citizens involved in governance.
