It was wild jubilation in the camp of the member of the Lagos State House of Assembly for Lagos Island State Constituency 1, Honourable Hakeem Masha as he was confirmed the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the constituency in the coming election.
A check at the website of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) early Wednesday, 28th January, 2015 confirmed that Masha is the APC candidate for the constituency.
INEC realesed the final list of all candidates for all categories of elections on Teusday, 27th January, 2015.
The loser in the race is former APC Secretary in Lagos State and two time chairman of Lagos Island Local Government, Honourable Wasiu Eshinlokun-Sanni who had earlier won the primaries conducted by the party in December, 2014.
Investigation by thegazellenews.com revealed that Eshinlokun lost out for trying to play smart in the run up to the primaries.
Eshinlokun allegedly wanted to be an umpire in a game he was a contestant. He was the party secreary when Masha bought filled and submitted his nomination and he collected the forms on behalf of the party. Only for him to resign later and said wanted to contest.
Apart from this, thegazellenews.com learnt further that Eshinlokun did not resign from his last official position in the stipulated time provided in the Electoral Act.
