The over two months search by billionaire business man, Jimoh Ibrahim for the person to head one of his media outfit, National Mirror newspaper ended on Thursday when politician Kafilat Ogbara was introduced to the staff as the new Managing Director of the newspaper.
For almost two months, Ibrahim has been searching for the person to head the newspaper but has been unsuccessful as all possible candidates refused to take the job due to what some of them tagged as: overbearing attitude of Ibrahim, his loose tongue, arrogance and sometime deliberate attitude to owe salary.
The National Mirror staff were thus surprised on Thursday afternoon when Kafilat Ogbara was introduced to them as the new MD.
However, Ogbara is more noted for her activities in politics than the media though at a time she was head of media for the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) when Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe was the Minister of Works.
She was deeply into the politics of Lagos being a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) belonging to the Bode George caucus.
Ogbara contested for a seat in the House of Representatives for Kosofe Federal Constituency on PDP’s platform in 2007 but lost to the then Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) candidate, Dayo Yacoob Alebiosu.
A society woman, Ogbara though married, has been linked romantically with several politicians such as Bode George, Gbenga Daniel and Seye Ogunlewe.
However, her biggest romantic conquest was perhaps her affair with the Chief of Staff to the President, Mike Oghiadomhe which many believed must have fetch her the latest job.
