After officially informing his colleagues at the Lagos State House of Assembly on his governorship ambition, the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sabit Adeyemi Ikuforiji, has begun consultations with traditional rulers in the state on the need to support his ambition to replace Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, when the latter completed his tenure in 2015.
Ikuforiji had informed members of the Assembly of his governorship ambition at the second Breakfast Meeting with Lawmakers which took place at his official residence at Joel Ogunnaike Street, GRA, Ikeja last Monday.
On Wednesday, Ikuforiji began his charity at home by going back to his homestead in Epe to meet with traditional rulers in the Epe Division.
Going under the disguise of a condolence visit to the family of the late former Governor of the state, Sir Micheal Otedola, the Lagos Speaker with members of his entourage met with major traditional rulers in the axis.
Sources told thegazellenews.com that as soon as the Speaker and members of his entourage entered the palace of each monarch they visited, they always go into a closed door meeting with them. The closed door meeting which lasted more than 30 minutes each always ended with the Speaker’s entourage beaming with smiles.
According to our sources, the Speaker’s team visited three monarchs before visiting the Otedolas after which the team continued its consultation with other monarchs. The consultation team did not leave Epe until late in the night.
