Three improvised devices suspected to be dynamites exploded on Tuesday at Okrika, Rivers State.
The explosions occurred at the Okrika secondary school few metres away from the Okrika open field, venue of the rescheduled All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship rally.
Hundreds of APC supporters had gathered at the venue waiting for the arrival of the party leaders when the explosives off.
This was followed with sporadic shootings leading to stampede as hundreds of party supporters that had earlier arrived the venue scampered for safety.
The rally was scheduled for January but was cancelled as a result of violence unleashed on the supporters of the party by thugs.
