Over 310 people from Ikeja Federal Constituency have benefitted from the empowerment programme of the House of Representatives member representing the Federal Constituency, Honourable James Abiodun Faleke.
At the graduation ceremony which took place on Saturday, 20 November, 2021 at the Academy Guest Inn, Youths trained on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) received their certificates as well as one laptop each.
Also, 100 members of the various branches of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) received cash grants ranging from N70, 000 to N200, 000.
At the same event, 110 Youths and women who were trained in Fishery collected their certificates and cash grants to start their business
Speaking at the event, Faleke stated that his main aim is to empower his constituents and make them become employers of Labour.
“Government and white collar jobs are very scarce now, so for me, rather than watching you sitting down at home waiting for these white collar jobs that are not forth coming, I believe training and empowering will go a long way in solving our unemployment problem,” Faleke said.
He assured the people on the Constituency that he will continue to work to make life easy for them.
“Our empowerment programmes are continuous one, I want to assure our people that we will touch every household,” he said.
