Ekiti State Government has said it would take proactive steps towards blocking all drain pipes and leakages in government finances.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Finance, Chief Toyin Ojo who made this known during his maiden meeting with staff of the state Central Internal Audit, reiterated the resolve of the Fayose led administration to embrace prudence and curb extravagant spending.
Stressing the importance of the role of auditors in what he called the corrective mission of the new administration, Chief Ojo charged the internal Auditors to live up to their responsibilities.
According to him, reports of the internal audits must not only be timely, but must be accurate in addition to containing facts and figures in order to effectively prevent leakages and waste as well as expose wrong doings.
Responding, the Administrative Secretary of the Central Internal
Audit, Mr. Michael Afeniforo pledged on behalf of staff of the unit to effectively report activities in all government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) adding that all hands would be on deck to effectively block all leakages.
