The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, Wilson Inalegwu has once again reminded FCT residents that the ban on hawking of petroleum products in Abuja and its environs is still in full force.
The Commissioner of Police has therefore ordered the re-enforcement of the ban.
He reiterated that the dangers posed by the hawking of petrol on the streets outweigh its supposed benefits, as it could lead to loss of lives and property.
According to the Police Commissioner, The re-enforcement is to put an end to the activities of these miscreants who hide under the guise of hawking petrol to perpetrate crime.
He therefore warned those involved in the illegal act to desist from it forthwith or face the full weight of the law.
While empathizing with motorist on the current challenge, he enjoined them to cooperate with the management of the respective filling stations in the FCT by being orderly and law abiding while waiting for the product.
