The Federal Government has said it is purchasing a mobile security scanner to be fitted at the Lagos Port Complex.
Lai Mohammed, minister of information, while briefing State House correspondents said the scanner would boost security at the port and attract more revenue as “more ships will now be willing to come to berth at the Apapa complex.’’
“ The contract is worth N718.6 million”, said Mohammed.
He further explained that “ hitherto, many vessels have refused to berth at the Lagos Port because they have not been too satisfied with the level of security”.
But, “with this installation of this scanner, it going to enhance security at the airport,” he added.
