A massive flood has washed away a 17-year-old girl, identified with one name Ayisat, at Alapafuja axis of the Surulere Low-Cost Housing Estate. The girl reportedly slipped into a large canal overflown with rainwater during the Tuesday afternoon heavy downpour.
The Gazelle News gathered that some neighbors jumped into the heavy flood water in a bid to save the girl.
“Two or three people who could swim jumped into the water from different points, but the water flow was so huge and fast. They gave up on the rescue mission after they lost sight of the girl”, said Kayode Ibrahim, a neighbour.
