‘Dance with Peter’, the continent’s hottest reality TV show sponsored by telecommunications operator, Globacom will be beamed live to millions of television viewers across the African continent beginning from this weekend.
Globacom in a statement in Lagos on Friday, 25th September, 2015 stated that the programme would be broadcast on Saturdays on Africa Magic Urban (Channel 153) from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sundays on Africa independent Television (AIT) from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The first episode of the programme according to Globacom is scheduled for broadcast this Saturday, 26th September, 2015 and would show the highlights of the auditions held in the cities of Abuja, Nigeria, and Accra, Ghana.
According to Globacom, the broadcast of the programme would give entertainment lovers the opportunity to see all the exciting highlights, especially how thousands of aspiring dancers across Nigeria and Ghana fought for a place in the final 30 shortlist to compete for the outstanding prizes on offer by the company.
The company stated further that viewers across Africa will be thoroughly entertained as the episode of the programme parades talents with unique dance steps and also very funny individuals who came for the auditions and left the judges wondering if they thought the contest was for comedians.
In addition, viewers would also have the opportunity to follow the three judges of the show as they compete to outwit one another to get the best talents in their teams.
“After the dancers sweated to impress the judges and be selected for the next stage of the auditions, the tables then turned with the selected dancers now choosing which of the judges they wanted to mentor them, particularly in instances where two or three judges indicate interest in mentoring a contestant. It is quite exciting watching the twist of fate with the judges wooing the contestants,” Globacom stated.
The judges include Guinness Book record holder for longest dance, Kafayat Shafau Ameh, popularly known as Kaffy; Peter Okoye of PSquare; and dance instructor and choreographer, Don Flexx.
The star prize of brand new Toyota RAV 4 sports utility vehicle, N3million cash prize and the rare opportunity of featuring in PSquare’s next music video awaits the best dancer, while the first and second runners up will receive a brand new Honda Civic car and N2million cash and a brand new Kia Rio car with N1million respectively.
Each of them will also have the chance to feature in a top Glo Ambassador’s music videos.
