The world’s most anticipated club match, the El Classico, will, on Saturday, be aired live to subscribers on the GOtv MAX package. The match will see last season’s champions, Real Madrid, take on current league leaders, Barcelona, at the Santiago Bernabeau. The match will be live on Select 4 at 12.30 pm
Barcelona, driven by the mercurial talents of Lionel Messi, currently top the league table with 42 points from 16 games and have remained undefeated.
Madrid, by their high standards, are having an indifferent season. They currently sit fourth on 31 points from 15 games. The point difference, however, hardly matters in the El Classico, which often ignore current form.
Madrid will take encouragement from their recent victory at the FIFA World Club Club, where they defeated Gremio of Brazil 2-0 in the final. Barcelona won at the Bernabeau last season in a gripping match that saw Messi lose a tooth and score the winner in the dying minutes.
They will seek to widen the gap between them and their eternal rivals to a hefty 14 points. The match is exclusive to SuperSport and will be available only on GOtv MAX.
Explaining why La Liga matches have been made available to GOtv MAX subscribers, John Ugbe, Managing Director, MultiChoice Nigeria, said that quality entertainment has always been a key focus for GOtv.
“Sports just got bigger and better with the GOtv MAX package. With La Liga now on GOtv, our subscribers can join the rest of the world in enjoying the best of Spanish football action as well as other entertainment choices at an affordable cost”, he said.
