The All progressing Congress (APC) in Lagos has cautioned the main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), to stop distracting the government of Sanwo-Olu with the news that the governor is flouting electoral rules and guidelines.
In a statement which was signed by the APC spokesperson in Lagos, Seye Oladejo, the party stated that so far governor Sanwo-Olu has been remarkable and has done very well in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic and despite that, other sectors of the state are not left unattended to.
Oladejo stated: “The rising profile of Mr Governor should give the moribund opposition party some headache especially the Lagos State government internationally acknowledged response to the novel COVID 19 pandemic.
“The governor has not only provided the desired leadership at an unprecedentedly trying time, he has become a reference point for responsive and responsible governance.
“It’s also worthy of note that other important sectors have not suffered neglect as a result of the pandemic challenge.”
The party spokesman also reassured Lagosians that the governor will continue to be focused concerning delivering his electoral promises and it jettisoned the idea of planning for 2023 elections now.
Oladejo concluded: “We need to emphasize that the commencement of 2023 elections only exists in the warped, mischievous and idle imagination of the opposition PDP.
“We regard the press statement by the PDP as their usual tantrums, distractive politics and sound and fury meaning nothing”.
