Governorship Poll: Visitors Flood Osun As Distribution Of Sensitive Materials Continues

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun state on Thursday, 7th August, 2014 continued the distribution of sensitive materials to the 30 local governments areas in the state ahead the Saturday, August 9 much awaited governorship election in the state.

Meanwhile, the election is attracting great attention from people across the country as visitors from all works of life have started besieging major towns in the state to monitor, cover or observe the election.

Twenty political parties are contesting in the poll. The distribution of sensitive materials is underway at the INEC headquarters in Osogbo.

When thegazellenews.com‘s correspondent visited INEC’s office in Osogbo around 4pm on Thursday, August 7th, 2014, he observed trucks being loaded with electoral materials heading towards the 30 local government areas.

Local and foreign observers accredited for the election, were also seen collecting branded bags that contains apron wears, tags and other materials.

Two of the observers commended INEC for the early distribution of the materials.

Also, accreditation of local and foreign journalists for the coverage of the election was also being carried out and would continue Friday, 8th August, 2014 at the INEC office.
