It was a sensational fight back for the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria as they fought back from 1-2 down to beat Hungary 4-2 in the opening of the Group B in the FIFA U-17 World Championship which started in Brazil on Saturday, 26 October, 2019.
The Eaglets were trailing 1-2 until the final ten minutes when a three goal blitz in five minutes gave them victory.
Hungary were first out of the block scoring the first goal in the 3rd minute while the Eaglets equalized in the 21st minute through a penalty expertly taken by Captain Samson Tijani after Wisdom Ubani was brought down in the box.
The leveler did not last long as Hungary retook the lead in the 29th minute through Major and they led by same score until the break.
The Eaglets entered the second half with renewed energy but lost many scoring chances.
It looked as if the Hungarians would go home with the three points but in the 79th minute, Nigeria won a corner which was taken by left back Etim and headed in by central defender, Umar.
A minute later, another defender, Oluwatimilehin Adeniyi headed in a cross from the left while Captain Tijani the win with a deflected free kick in the 85th minute.
