The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole has reassured Nigerians of federal government’s commitment to providing qualitative and affordable healthcare services across the country.
Professor Adewole said this in Osogbo on Sunday during a special church service and reception organised in his honour by the Osun state government.
According to the health minister, as promised during the presidential Campaign of President Muhammadu Buhari, his ministry would concentrate on primary healthcare and also revatilise the nation’s tertiary healthcare system.
He further assured Nigerians of cooperation with all the state governments in order to ensure that secondary healthcare system functioned effectively.
According to him, efforts are underway to take healthcare to the door step of over 70 per cent Nigerians saying the slogan of the present government is that every life and death must count.
The Minister expressed optimism that people’s standard of living would be greatly improved if the policies were actualised.
The Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Babajide Omoworare and a member of the House of Representatives,representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency,Mr Ajibola Famurewa assured that the minister would live up to expectation.
Speaking during the service, the state Vice Chairman of the Christian Association Of Nigeria, Reverend Doctor Testimony Onifade enjoined the minister to ensure reduction of premature death arising from various diseases.
Special prayers were offered for president Muhammad Buhari and the country at large.
The event was attended by the Minister of State in the ministry, Doctor Osagie Ohanere, National Assembly members from the state, family members, and well wishers of the Minister.
