As a follow up to earlier intervention exercise on refuse collection and disposal at no cost to residents across the local government embarked on two weeks ago, the Chairman of Ifako Ijaye Local Government, Apostle Oloruntoba Oke has directed that the exercise be extended to all parts of the local government until the state new programme on waste management is launched.
Thus, the exercise on Tuesday, began at the Aina Ajobo secretariat of the local government running through Oluwasijibomi street, the popular Yaya Abatan street, Orimolade street, College Road, Hospital Road, through to Iju Road and down to Ishaga Market.
Other areas covered by the exercise include: Obawole bridge, Oladire Street through Ashabi Taiwo, Kajola Road, Ndike Market and back to Kajola/Omo-onile junction.
Apostle Oke stated that the initiative was in line with the vision of the state Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode to turn Lagos into a Mega City.
